• Koala Hospital

    The Koala Hospital is the world's first rehabilitation facility dedicated solely to the care and conservation of wild koalas.

    The Hospital was first established in 1973 by a concerned local couple who cared for injured koalas in their home.

    The hospital is set in the beautiful grounds of Macquarie Nature Reserve and has been in operation since 1973. Entry is free.

    There is a guided tour at 3pm every day and visitors are encouraged to come anytime between 7.30 am and 4.30 pm seven days a week, 364 days a year (not Christmas Day).

  • Sea Acres Rainforest Centre

    OPEN 9am to 4.30pm daily. Closed Christmas Day

    Great gift shop, place to grab morning tea or lunch and check out the mini nature centre.

    Price is FREE ~  But fees apply for the Rainforest Boardwalk. Tour guides can accompany you on your 1+ km tour (flat, easy).

  • St Thomas Anglican Church

    This historic building is the 2nd oldest church in Australia!

    Informative tour of their heritage church, built by convicts. When the weather is fine visitors can climb to the top of the tower and experience one of the best views in Port Macquarie. Their friendly volunteers will guide you through the church whilst giving detailed information about the various points of interest. There is also a museum area upstairs in the 'tower'.

    A fabulous place to check out cafes, have a picnic under the incredible Fig Tree, listen to live music at the Beach House Restaurant, enjoy an ice cream as you walk out on the wharf or along the Hastings River - watch for dolphins and pelicans!

  • Bago Vineyard & Maze

    Bago Maze at Bago Vineyards goes into its 14th Year of growth and is maintained now at just over 2.3m high.

    Opening Hours
    The Bago Maze is open from 9am every day (except Christmas Day). Last entry to the maze is 4pm and our Cellar Door closes at 5pm. The Bago Maze takes approximately 20 minutes to an hour to explore.

    At the multiple award-winning Billabong Zoo (Port Macquarie, NSW) you can get up-close and personal to Australian and exotic animals. You can pat, stroke, feed, hold, hear and see over 80 species of mammals, reptiles and birds. We care for over 200 animals in this friendly 10 acre Koala and Wildlife Park. Enjoy our much loved Zoo Talks throughout the day. All free as they are included in the Admission price.
